Broadcasting message to a site

Broadcasting a message to a site allows you to send a text message to a specific device on a site. While the device doesn’t display the message, it plays a tone twice and reads the message aloud to alert the guard. This system ensures accurate communication and is fully auditable for future troubleshooting. Always check device volume and maintain professionalism when sending messages.

Step 1: Access the Broadcast Messages Feature

  1. Log in to the controller dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the “Broadcast Messages” section.

Step 2: Select the Site

  1. Choose the site you want to send the message to.
  2. For this example, select a site like “33 Anpom.”

Step 3: Choose the Device

  1. Select the specific device on the site that you want to send the message to.
    • Note: Messages are broadcast per device, not to all devices on a site.

Step 4: Type and Send the Message

  1. Enter your message in the text box.
  2. Double-check for accuracy since all actions are audited and logged.
  3. Click Send to broadcast the message.

Step 5: Verify Message Delivery

  1. The device on-site will play a tone twice to alert the guard.
  2. The device will then speak the message aloud.
  3. A system-generated confirmation message will appear in the dashboard to confirm the device received the message.

Step 6: Troubleshooting Tips

  • Ensure the device volume is at an audible level; if the volume is too low or muted, the message won’t be heard.
  • Supervisors can set a default volume on the backend to ensure messages are audible when the patrol starts.

Key Notes:

  • Every action on the dashboard, including messages and feedback, is logged for auditing.
  • Be precise and professional when typing messages or feedback to allow for efficient troubleshooting in the future.
